Our Recent Accomplishments
ASSISTANCE LEAGUE® of Saddleback Valley, is recognized locally as a valuable volunteer organization. Our philanthropic efforts have been funded for the last 13 years by our sole major fundraiser, The Christmas Tree Luncheon, and by funds received from our donors. We have NO paid employees.

In September of 2002, ASSISTANCE LEAGUE® of Saddleback Valley was selected from over 300 applicants to receive one of the 100 awards given at the September 3, 2002 45th Annual Disneyland Community Service Awards event. ASSISTANCE LEAGUE® of Saddleback Valley received $3,500 in the Social Community Service Awards Group for our OPERATION SCHOOL BELL® project.

In addition to the $3,500 grant, we received a signed copy of one of the 100 "Mickeys" that were painted by Eric Robinson in honor of Walt Disney's 100th Birthday.

In 2001-2002, we spent 12,276 hours improving children’s self image by clothing 399 children through OPERATION SCHOOL BELL®. Also in 2001-2002, we expanded OPERATION SCHOOL BELL® to include middle school children with project TeenSpree.

In partnership with Mervyn’s national project, ChildSpree, our members assisted 92 seventh and eighth graders purchase back-to-school clothing and school supplies.

Other projects enabled us to deliver 1,475 meals to housebound seniors and work 240 hours volunteering at three libraries. We adopted 26 needy families (95 recipients) and provided them with food, clothing and toys. In addition, we assisted over 163 women and children in shelter homes.

We supplemented the Mission Hospital’s Health fair by donating bicycle helmets to 60 children and supplying the hospital’s surgical center with their “waiting room wish list”.
