ASSISTANCE LEAGUE® of Saddleback Valley

On Wednesday, November 3, 2004, ASSISTANCE LEAGUE® of Saddleback Valley honored Mr. A. Thomas Bender, Chairman and CEO - The Cooper Companies, Inc., with NATIONAL ASSISTANCE LEAGUE's® prestigious OPERATION SCHOOL BELL® Award.

The Christmas Tree Luncheon, ASSISTANCE LEAGUE® of Saddleback Valley's annual fundraiser for its philanthropic projects, includes a "Gift from the Heart" segment where attendees may show their support by donating $75 to clothe a child.  At the 2003 luncheon, Mr. Bender challenged the guests by committing to matching all the pledges made.  A total of almost 300 pledges were made and then matched by Mr. Bender, bringing in a grand total of $43,500.

Through his generosity, the needs of additional children in the Saddleback Valley community could be met.  Thank you from the members of the ASSISTANCE LEAGUE® of Saddleback Valley and from the children of the Saddleback Valley that benefit from his generosity!!!
